The ESFR-SIMPLE project kicks off!
The ESFR-Simple kick-off meeting was held in Aix-en-Provence, France !
The European Sodium Fast Reactor Safety by Innovative Monitoring, Power Level flexibility and Experimental research, in short ESFR-SIMPLE, had its official kick-off meeting on 10th and 11th October 2022. As part of the Euratom Research and Training Programme, ESFR-SIMPLE is the successor to the ESFR-SMART project and aims to improve the safety of the European Sodium Fast Reactor through innovative monitoring, power level flexibility and experimental research, as well as disseminate the results among nowadays and upcoming stakeholders, academics, and professionals in this field.
Funded by the European Commission and launched on the 1st of June 2022, the ESFR-SIMPLE project’s coordinator, CEA, organized a kick-off meeting in Aix-en-Provence, France, and gathered 16 partners from different European countries. This marked the start of a 48-month project with world-leading nuclear experts and a wide range of stakeholders, who will contribute to the improvement of the design, operation, and safety of nowadays nuclear power plants and tomorrow’s designs.
